On April 15th, 2025, the 76th Zhi Xin Forum was held in Room 703 at the Zhi Xin Building, which was jointly organized by the College of Electronic and Information Engineering and Shanghai Institute of Intelligent Science and Technology of Tongji University. Prof. Yusheng Ji from the National Institute of Informatics (NII) and the Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI) was invited to give a lecture on“Distributed Learning for Autonomous Resource Sharing”.
First, Professor Ji introduced the advantages of decentralized control mechanisms over centralized ones in large-scale distributed systems, such as massive Machine-Type Communications (mMTC) systems and emphasized that to enable a large number of devices to operate autonomously and cooperatively for achieving better system performance, multi-agent learning techniques play a crucial role in autonomous resource allocation within these large-scale distributed systems. Professor Ji also explained how these techniques can optimize resource allocation and enhance overall system efficiency and performance.
After the report, Prof. Ji had a cordial exchange and discussion with the participating teachers and students and she also encouraged them to actively broaden their horizon, explore, discover and solve new scientific problems based on her own experience. This report further expanded the vision of our teachers and students and enhanced their understanding and knowledge of the application of distributed learning in autonomous resource allocation.
