Research Fields
A summary of research fields
At present, the research activities in the CEIE are conducted with common interests in the fields of “Intelligent Network and Autonomous Systems”. They can be further categorized into two classes of “Cognitive Internet” and of “Intelligent Perception and Autonomous Systems” respectively. For “Cognitive Internet”, the research areas include information services, data networks, cognitive computing, intelligent information, and network risk control; for “Intelligent Perception and Autonomous Systems”, the areas are intelligent sensors and chip design, robotics and autonomous control, and “information and physics” fusion systems.
Beyond the fundamental researches on so-called “Intelligence essences” which include the studies of control, communications, electronics, computer science, and network security, the CEIE also developed interdisciplinary researches of "Intelligence +" researches, such as intelligent construction (together with the college of civil engineering), smart city (with college of architecture and urban planning), intelligent sensors (with the college of material science and engineering), smart finance (with the college of economics and management), intelligent court and “AI+ethics” (with the Law school) , intelligent manufacturing (with the college of mechanic engineering ), intelligent vehicles (with the college of automobiles), digital transportation (with the college of transportation), and smart grid/energy, intelligent seabed observation network (with the college of ocean-ism), smart environment (with the college of environment science and engineering),AI-aided design (with the school of design and innovation), and intelligent medical and health care (with the college of medicals and the college of bioscience).
