I、Brief Introduction
Microelectronics Science and Engineering is an emerging interdisciplinary subject based on semiconductor physics and micro-nano electronics and based on large-scale integrated circuit chip design and manufacturing technology. It involves four closely related secondary disciplines: physical electronics, circuits and systems, microelectronics and solid-state electronics, electromagnetic fields and microwave technology. At the same time, it is integrated with the first-level disciplines such as control science and engineering, computer science and technology, software engineering, and physics. Micro-nanoelectronics is the forerunner and foundation of electronic science and information science and technology in the 21st century. It is an important foundation for the development of modern high-tech and the modernization of the national economy. It mainly studies the physical and functional electronic materials of semiconductor devices, solid electronic devices, Very Large Scale Integration design and manufacturing technology (VLSI), micromechanical electronic systems, and computer-aided design and manufacturing technologies.
This major develops a solid and broad basic theory and systematic in-depth expertise in microelectronics science and engineering disciplines, gains an in-depth understanding of the progress, trends and latest developments of the discipline, and is familiar with computer engineering, communication engineering, electronic information engineering, physics, etc. The basic theory and knowledge of the discipline, with senior professionals who are independent in the ability and practical ability of microelectronics science and engineering and related interdisciplinary creative scientific research.
Currently there are 13 professors and 11 associate professors in the IC engineering department. Among them, there are a "Changjiang" distinguished scholar, a Shanghai Thousand Talents Plan scholar, two distinguished professors of Tongji University and a Young Thousand Talents Plan scholar. Based on the national IC talent training center, the "Embedded System" 985 platform, and the key laboratory of "Embedded Systems and Computing Services", Ministry of Education, this department provides strong support to personnel training and scientific research. In recent years, it has undertaken various provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and more than 30 national projects, including the 863 projects, science and technology support programs, projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In the fields of VLSI design, customized CPUs for users, SoC for mobile communications and multimedia, infrared sensors and their applications, the researchers have achieved significant academic achievements, which have been recognized by the domestic and foreign researchers. The researchers have published more than 200 papers in the academic journals, including over 60 SCI indexed articles, more than 100 EI indexed articles. In addition, 30 patents have been granted.
This discipline awards Ph.D. Degree in engineering.
