The electrical engineering discipline was granted the right to confer a master's degree in a first-level discipline in2005. The discipline covers four secondary disciplines: electrical machinery and electrical appliances, power system and automation, power electronics and power transmission, high voltage and insulation technology, among which the power system and automation discipline was the first batch approved by the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council (1981) The master's degree granting point, electrical machinery and electrical appliances, power electronics and power transmission disciplines were awarded the right to grant master's degrees in 1985 and 1998 respectively. The subject has a strong faculty and a reasonable structure. There are currently 10 professors, 13 associate professors, and 3 senior engineers. The scientific research results of this subject are fruitful. In the past 5 years, the subject has undertaken more than 20 national projects and more than 50 provincial and ministerial projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National 863 Program for Electric Vehicles, the National Science and Technology Support Program, and the Ministry of Science and Technology International Cooperation projects, National Torch Program, Science and Technology Project of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, Science and Technology Project of Shanghai Economic Commission, Science and Technology Project of Shanghai Education Commission, Science and Technology Project of State Grid Corporation, Science and Technology Development Plan of Ministry of Railways, etc. The annual scientific research funding has reached 9 million yuan; More than 300 papers have been published in important domestic and foreign academic journals and international academic conferences, of which more than 100 have been included in SCI, EI, ISTP, and more than 10 academic monographs and textbooks have been published, forming a relatively significant comprehensive advantage of the discipline and academic research characteristics.
